Our 1st General Assembly in Zaragoza
As September marked the completion of the project’s 1st year, the consortium partners traveled to sunny Zaragoza to attend the project’s 1st General Assembly, which took place at CIRCE’s headquarters.
Over two days (September 10–11), the agenda focused on reviewing progress, addressing challenges, and mapping out the next steps for the project.
The first day was dedicated entirely on aligning the project’s workplan and reviewing key technical designs where:
EUROCORE introducing project specifications (WP1)
CIRCE presenting the simulation-driven design (WP2)
NTUA sharing advances on kilns and plasma reactor prototyping (WP6)
ICCS, CEIN, EURECAT, and Brunel University showcasing breakthroughs on RMI systems, IFRK designs, microwave rotary kilns, plasma reactors, and heat exchangers
Each session sparked open discussions on challenges, synergies, and next steps.
The second day, from the other side, had a more interactive nature. It started with the presentations on progress of the digitalisation framework by MAGGIOLI, the raw material intelligence system by ICCS, and the DECS (Dissemination, Exploitation, Communication & Standardisation) by CORE.
Then, STAM took the stage and led a very engaging workshop exploring with the help of all the present partners how the project results could be put to use in the future.
The Assembly concluded with a guided visit to CIRCE’s state-of-the-art laboratories, where the partners got a closer look at cutting-edge work in environmental testing, validation and communication protocols, power electronics, sustainable mobility, and smart grids.
With one year behind us and strong momentum ahead, PRIM-ROCK is on track to deliver impactful innovations for the future of raw materials processing.
