From Data to Decisions: Visualizing the Future of Kiln Operations

We are pleased to share a brief insight within the PRIM-ROCK project, focusing on the ongoing work related to advanced process visualization for Fornaci Calce Grigolin.
In lime production plants, kiln operation is a critical process both in terms of operational efficiency and safety. The ability to clearly visualize key process parameters, such as temperature profiles, energy consumption, and production performance, plays an essential role in supporting operators during daily decision-making and ensuring stable and safe plant operation.
Within PRIM-ROCK, these needs are being addressed through the development of an interactive 3D and XR-based visualization module. This tool will enable a more intuitive and real-time understanding of the kiln and associated production systems, allowing operators to access and interpret process data in a more effective way directly from the plant environment.
For Fornaci Calce Grigolin, this development represents an important step forward in enhancing both operational awareness and process control. Moving from traditional monitoring interfaces to an immersive and data-driven visualization approach will support faster interpretation of critical conditions and improve the overall responsiveness of plant operators.
The upcoming implementation of the PRIM-ROCK visualization module is therefore expected to significantly strengthen how industrial process data is used on the shop floor, bridging the gap between raw data and actionable insight.
